MIREYA OVERCAST

Although I’ve been teaching at NOE now for 27 years, it continues to be my passion. I am encouraged when I run into former students at the store or on Facebook and they comment on how English has helped them in their lives.

My goal each year in the classroom is to simplify the learning process and I get excited seeing kids turn the corner from confusion to understanding.

When I share about the Bible and God’s impact on my own life, I can tell that my students are processing that information. One student at the end of the year wrote the following: “…through you, teacher, God has been working on my character and I am inspired to continue what has been planted in me.”
